Anupama Solanki on Jagriti: 'This is My First Time Playing a Positive Dabang Character'

Actress Anupama Solanki, known for her versatility on television, takes on a powerful new avatar in the ongoing series Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah. In a candid conversation, she revealed that her role as Sudha marks the first time she’s playing a “positive Dabang character” on TV.
“I’m very choosy about my roles, even though it’s risky in this industry. But I prefer to wait for something meaningful,” she shares. Her character Sudha, who returns from Dubai, is portrayed as strong-willed and intense, particularly in her interactions with her husband, Kalikant, played by Aarya Babbar.
The narrative recently introduced a gripping twist: Aarya Babbar plays twin brothers — Kalikant and Shashikant — and one of them is set to die, changing the course of the storyline dramatically.
Reflecting on her journey, Anupama said, “In Nath, I was a simple village girl; in Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai, I played a greedy woman. Every role has challenged me differently. Now, in Jagriti, I play a confident, bold woman who acts with conviction.”
On joining an ongoing show, she admitted, “It’s tough to come in midway, but the upcoming plot twists are sure to captivate the audience. I’m excited for everyone to see this new side of me.”
