Lotpot Comics Joins Hands with Shin chan for Historic Indian Comic Debut and Film Launch
Lotpot Comics teams up with global favorite Shin chan for his Indian comic debut and film launch, uniting Japanese mischief with Indian storytelling.

In a landmark moment for children’s entertainment in India, Lotpot Comics, the country’s oldest running Hindi comic magazine, has announced an exciting collaboration with Japan’s beloved character, Shin chan. This partnership brings Shin chan into Indian homes not just through the screen—but also the comic page, with the launch of the first-ever Hindi-translated Shin chan manga strips in Lotpot.
This initiative aligns with the release of Shin chan: The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India, a new theatrical film set in India and premiering nationwide on September 26, 2025. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, and marks Shin chan’s most localized venture yet.
For over five decades, Lotpot has shaped childhoods with iconic characters like Motlu Patlu, Sheikh Chilli, and Dr. Jhatka. Now, with Shin chan joining this legacy, the collaboration promises a delightful fusion of Japanese whimsy and Indian humour.
P.K. Bajaj, Editor of Lotpot Comics, said, “Shin chan’s arrival in Lotpot is a joyous milestone—uniting generations through shared laughter.”
Aman Bajaj, Publisher, added, “This partnership helps take Lotpot’s reach beyond borders while staying true to its mission—wholesome fun for children.”
Shivank Arora, CMO of Lotpot, noted, “The positive response has encouraged us to explore more international creative tie-ups in the future.”
Speaking from Japan, Kensuke Suzuki, Editor-in-chief of “CRAYON SHINCHAN” at Futabasha, said, “Namaste! We’re thrilled to see Shin chan on Lotpot’s cover and to celebrate India through the new movie. We hope readers fall in love with his original manga charm.”
With a strong narrative foundation and creative innovation, the Lotpot–Shin chan collaboration sets the stage for a new era in cultural storytelling and cross-border entertainment.
